SaniPeg^® 300g Jar

SaniPeg^® 300g is indicated to treat the typical symptoms of constipation (reduced frequency and difficulty evacuating, hard stools, abdominal heaviness and bloating, flatulence, meteorism, etc.) and to prevent the formation of faecalomas that are difficult to expel.

Macrogol is a water-soluble inert polymer with a high molecular weight that has the ability to bind to the water used for intake by retaining it in the feces.

It causes rehydration and softening of the fecal mass and facilitates evacuation. It accelerates intestinal transit by aiding peristalsis. It is not absorbed or metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract and does not lead to hydro electrolyte imbalances when taken with the indicated dose of liquid.

Use the measuring spoon contained in the packet to dose the powder; fill it flush and do not press down, then remove the excess with the blade of a knife.

Adults and children over 12 years of age

2 to 10 level scoops per day. The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on individual responses to treatment, to allow for regular evacuation of soft stools. The maximum dose required does not normally exceed 10 scoops per day. Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (50 ml per scoop) and take immediately. It is recommended to take the product in the morning if the minimum dose (2 scoops per day) is to be taken. For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening. If there is no improvement after 7 days of treatment, consult your doctor

Children between 6 months and 12 years of age

The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on individual response to treatment, to allow for regular evacuation of soft stools. The maximum dose required does not normally exceed 4 scoops per day. Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (50 ml per scoop) and take immediately. It is recommended that the product be taken in the morning if 1 scoop per day is required. For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening. If physiological intestinal regularity is not restored after 7 days of treatment, consult your doctor.

Daily dose per body weight

• 6-10 kg: 1 level scoop per day
• from 10-15 kg: 1-2 level scoops per day
• 16-20 kg: 2-3 level scoops per day
• 21-43 kg: 3-4 level scoops per day

Do not take Sanipeg^® in case of known hypersensitivity to one or more components; intestinal perforation, obstruction, or stenosis; paralytic ileus; severe inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, toxic megacolon).

The use of laxatives is contraindicated in cases of acute abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin, and in cases of severe dehydration.

Some gastrointestinal complaints (stomachache, flatulence, abdominal bloating, nausea and faecal incontinence) may occur. Diarrhea is a side effect of overdose; it can be avoided by decreasing the dose.

Hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) have rarely been reported following the use of products containing macrogol. If this occurs, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor.
